Formula Nero DH fork

Formula’s Nero DH fork comes in coil and air-sprung versions, for 650b or 29in wheels. Both share the same damper, which allows high and low-speed compression adjustment. The air-sprung Nero R uses a three-chamber system, dubbed ‘3Air’. This allows you to adjust the end-stroke progression (gold valve) and both positive (silver) and negative (bronze) pressures to tailor the spring curve. Pricing should be competitive.

Formula RO Racing brakes

FORMULA’S OVAL-PISTON RO brake has been an outstanding lightweight performer for those with plenty of cash for a while, and the Racing version takes performance and price to new extremes.

Formula CR3 brakes

The CR3 features a cartridge-type master, which improves power and modulation, plus it is super simple to service: The self-enclosed unit threads directly into the lever body. I took apart our test set and had it back together and bled in 10 minutes with no special tools. Like Formula’s RO brakes, the caliper pistons are actually oval, making more surface area–and thus, more power–than round pistons, but simpler than a four-piston system. The CR3 is best suited for aggressive trail riding.

Formula ThirtyFive 27.5 fork

Formula is known for its lightweight, techy brakes, and its forks aim to follow suit. The ThirtyFive clearly has the lightweight part covered. Our 160-millimeter-travel, 27.5 inch version was lighter than most of the forks in this issue. It was the most expensive, but there’s a lot under its hood.

Formula ThirtyFive trail fork

If you’re lookIng for an impressively lightweight, smooth and fully adjustable enduro/trail tamer then Formula’s fork should definitely be in contention.

Formula T1 Racing brakes

FORMULA'S MOST POWERFUL brake gets an enduro makeover, providing excellent power-to-weight performance for those who can afford it.

Formula T1 brakes

FORMULA’S ‘THE ONE’ set new standards when it arrived and while it’s not as user friendly as some, it’s still a super-powerful lightweight option at a newly reduced price.

Formula RO brakes

FORMULA’S MOST POWERFUL brake is a serious DH stopper at an XC weight and it’s come down a chunk in price too. It’s more careintensive than most though.

Formula THIRTYFIVE fork

FORMULA’S NEW FORK is an impressively light and stiff unit if you don’t need big rotors. Despite big 35mm stanchions and decent steering accuracy, it’s lighter than a lot of 140mm travel, 32mm legged trail forks. It’s only available with a tapered steerer though, and isn’t recommended for use with rotors bigger than 180mm.
